Young people are an important part of every community. With the right guidance, education, encouragement, and opportunities, young people can develop the knowledge, confidence, and character needed to make positive contributions to society.
Recognizing this need, AL-AMEEN Welfare Foundation (AAWF) is committed to supporting young people through education, mentorship, Islamic guidance, and positive community engagement.
Our youth mentorship initiative is designed to create opportunities for young people in communities such as Kasoa and Accra to learn, grow, ask questions, and receive guidance from positive role models.
Why Youth Mentorship Matters
Adolescence and early adulthood are important stages of personal development. Young people make decisions during these years that can influence their education, careers, relationships, character, and future opportunities.
A supportive mentor can provide encouragement and help a young person navigate challenges, recognize their strengths, and make responsible choices.
Education
Encouraging young people to value learning and personal development.
Guidance
Providing positive guidance and a safe environment for meaningful conversations.
Growth
Helping young people build confidence, character, skills, and positive habits.
Building Character Through Islamic Values
Education is not only about academic achievement. Young people also need strong values, good character, responsibility, compassion, honesty, discipline, and respect for others.
Through Islamic education and mentorship, AAWF seeks to encourage young people to develop positive habits and understand the importance of serving their families and communities.
“And say, ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’”
The Role of Mentors
A mentor can have a meaningful influence on a young person's development. Mentors can share experience, listen to concerns, provide encouragement, and help young people think carefully about their goals and decisions.
Effective mentorship is built on trust, respect, responsibility, and consistency. It should create a positive environment where young people feel encouraged to learn and improve themselves.

Investing in the Next Generation
Supporting young people is an investment in the future of our communities. When young people have access to education, positive mentorship, and opportunities to develop their abilities, they are better positioned to contribute positively to society.
AAWF believes that youth development should involve families, educators, community leaders, mentors, and young people themselves.
Through continued collaboration and community support, we hope to expand opportunities for young people and help them build brighter futures.
